Super heroes! ASSEMBLEEEE!!! AKA Champions online is free

So, yesterday i stumbled upon Champions Online (also known as "that other Super Hero MMO" ) and saw it was free..ish. Well, most of the game features are free anyway... and i thought to myself "Hey! Why the hell not?" So... i'm in!

Now, you have less slots for heroes and costumes and less options around your powers (less customization), Premium players also have unique parts for their costumes, and a few unique powers (but i didn't saw anything game breaking in it)

Now, instead of customizing from the Group up, you basically pick a "Class" and evolve that class with a Skill tree with some branches. Seems more streamlined, really...

So, i dove in. And the character creation process is really robust. You can easily go from a Hulkering beast to George Clooney if you want... So, what i got? Let me introduce you to the best hero of all time!!

The Mysterious Flying Marksman... that's Right... He Shoots your face with Arrows AND THEN HE FLIES AWAY... Legend has it that he stared at gravity and told it to "Fuck off" in a slow, parsed, Australian accent and that's how he got his powers. The Arrow shooting thing just came out of pure Manliness...

Works like a charm!

After a Major Battle with the Boss (that i forgot to Screenshot) I Recon with the Defender, main Hero of the City to Destroy the invaders!

Defender is Alright... he let me Fire the giant Cannon on the Enemy spaceship. But he is still a wimp. HA! Those Muscle are not even half as big as mine Manly Brawns!!!



What is this? A saltute for me? Captain manhood is Pleased!!!

Now out of Noobtown, i can meet the other heroes and pick my Own Super Travel Power!! They are a colorfull Bunch...

Captain Manhood is So manly he could've picked Teleportation... because he is so manly he can Phase out of Reality... but i choosed Flight. Because Flight let's you do THIS freely...


A quick Comparison of the game on Medium and Max (gives me a little lag) Graphical settings from the Highets point i could find.

Aaah... my City... mine to Protect and defend with my Manliness...

There is only one thing a True Manly man can do once you've come this high......

So Yeah.. Champions Online is free, it's right now avalible to download, and if you guys are looking for a fun time waster, this is it... come join the mess!

The game has some confusing keyboard settings, but you can get used to it rather quick... Missions are pretty straightforward and reading the flavor text is a huge help to your goals... it's fun, rather light and simple... i'll stick wiht it for a while!
