This is more of an open question to see interest in getting a p&p group together.
trying to find out if people would be interesting in playing and what system people would want to play in. For my self I'm not to bothered about what system gets used as i've played in a large variety of settings and systems and most of what makes it good is the people you play with. If your interested could you post the system/setting you would prefer used and whether your up for GMing or playing. |

Might be better in the RPG section where there's been some success with this already. I'm currently GMing an FFD6 game over there, and Funka managed to successfully start an Exalted Campaign, but then he stopped showing up to the chats. We had a CoC campaign that got through one mission on the forums waaaaay back in the day, and I think there's been no less than two D&D campaigns that got off the ground but died shortly. PF had an Eclipse Phase game that was pretty fun for the little while it lasted. I also GM'd two or three homebrews, none of which got too far, but...
Most of the deaths had to do with GMs kinda underestimating the work involved in doing an online RPG, and the slow relative speed at which they move when on a forum due to combat rounds (why I'm experimenting with FFD6, combat rounds are much more fluid and quicker as a result). In chats if you've got a dice roller it's not so bad, but on a forum board you're basically doing all the the GM work plus all the player work--other than deciding what the PCs will do. I've also been pondering, if I get time, running the Exalted Example Campaign (Tomb of the Five Corners) over a chat.

I'd be interested in playing such a game, especially if we could use an online tabletop such as OpenRPG or anything like it. My RP experience is mostly in D&D 3.0/3.5.

I'd be keen bu am Europe based so times are different and haven't had much with a group there in the past. I'd be more keen for chat-based though.
Only one I've done is 3rd- 3.5 which I've DMed a lot |

I'm euro based as well for what it's worth Barrelpants,
Krylo I understand where you're coming from but I don't imagine running the game on the forum it's self. Forums are good for many things but it's far to slow paced to run games with any kind of moderate combat focus. Pip boy has the right idea in using OpenRPG or another program like gametable as they allow an entire group to see the grid table and dice rolls and other malarky making things much quicker, not to mention a shared chat room. For what it's worth I'm also willing to be either a D/GM for D&D, WFRP 2nd ed or possibly MURPG (which does work forum based) or a player for pretty much any system or setting. |

Sounds like D&D is pretty good. I live on the West Coast of the US, so timezones will be a bit off, but if we have a majority of European player I won't mind playing at strange local hours to conform to your crazy metric time system.
Perhaps I shall have to introduce you all to Bob the Bipolar Barbarian. |

Regardless of whether it's on the forums or a chat or some program specifically designed for it.

Sif and SMB, is there any real-time chat client we could all agree on using to help in the planning for all this nonsense? It would make discussing campaign settings, picking a DM, and planning times a lot easier.
EDIT: Me and Sifright have added each other's MSN addresses for purposes of talking about this over instant messaging service. If anyone wishes to join these discussions or receive more frequent updates on the status of the campaign and its planning, please PM for my MSN/Windows Live Messenger address or add my steam account "Pip Boy". Sifright, Shyria and I spoke about schedules for a while earlier today and determined that the best play times will be either Sundays or Mondays in the Morning/Evening in the US/Europe respectively. SMB, how does that work for your schedules, and how would you feel about DMing?
