Video Games Portal 2 Facts

Fact: Portal 2 is now available for preorder through Steam and other retailers.

Fact: Every Portal 2 pre-purchase made through Steam comes with a free copy of the original Portal; this can be for yourself or sent through a friend (there is also an option to preorder two copies of Portal 2 so you have a copy of that to gift come release day).

Fact: Shyria now has a spare copy of Portal and is looking for someone to gift it to.

That... is a better deal than I thought would be given out. Awesome! Just too bad that almost everyone has Portal these days. ...and now I'm gonna start thinking about Portal. Great. Dammit, Valve!

As for the free copy... well, I know other people are having bigger money issues than I am, so let someone else have it. It's just the nice thing to do!

Default But, I mean, it's Portal, so I still want to.

I honestly thought they'd do something for pairs who bought the game. As it is, I already have an extra copy of Portal that I have had no luck gifting, and things like custom skins for the co-op 'bots aren't a huge draw for me. Perhaps I won't be bothering with a pre-order.

i would honestly love a free copy of Portal, but only if nobody else wants it. Cause i'm still considering this Pre-order, so i could end up with a gift copy myself...

About the only thing I've seen is the Portal 2 doublepack preorder for like $70. Looks like you get a copy of 2 for yourself and one for a friend.

Weren't we supposed to get that Companion Cube pin in TF2 with pre-orders or something?

I don't know, but five dollars off on a game that I was going to buy anyway is good enough for me. I preordered it about a minute after I found out it was possible to preorder it.

Could be that, or it could be something like an achievement in Portal 2 unlocks the item. Or it could be something else.

Trust me, I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that. Good point. Hope it's not some exclusive item, the pin looks pretty cool.

I paid 20 dollars for Portal which with all the special offers I've seen since adds up to about 50 dollars more than I'd have to if I'd waited. So I'm thinking, Portal 2 can wait a while. :I
