Silent Hill HD Pack Out In Late 2011/Early 2012

So the Silent Hill High Definition Pack that's being released is - according to my source, a local game retailer - is set to release in December, "December 1st" being the only register.

Aside from that, as you can see by the link above, the games will not be PS3 exclusive, they will have Trophy support and... and it's probably going to be terrible.

There are so many things wrong with the new voices, I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with Eddie. His character in the original Silent Hill 2 sounded absolutely insane. There was always a feeling of disgust in every scene he was in. I don’t even know how to describe the new Eddie. Just listen to him. It sounds like he has a throat infection or something. This new performance doesn’t even come close to evoking the same emotions as before. It still makes you cringe, but for all the wrong reasons.

The voice of Mary/Maria in the original Silent Hill 2 was actually really good. It was certainly the most believable of the bunch. The new Maria has too deep of a voice and is trying way too hard to be seductive. James doesn’t actually sound that bad, surprisingly enough. It’s not like he says much, though, so it’s kind of difficult to tell.

LOS ANGELES--When Konami releases the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders HD Collections this November and next year, respectively, Xbox gamers will for the first time have a chance to experience the highly regarded franchises. However, Xbox 360 owners hoping for a similar high-definition update with the Silent Hill HD Collection shouldn't hold their breath.

Silent Hill 2's HD update appears to be limited to the PS3.

Konami has confirmed that the Silent Hill HD Collection will only be coming to the PlayStation 3 when it ships this fall. The package will include HD updates for Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, which were originally released in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Konami has also added all-new voice acting, as well as PlayStation Network trophy support.

Konami also offered a smattering of additional details for Silent Hill: Book of Memories, which is in development for the PlayStation Vita. Though its release date remains to be announced, Konami said that the handheld title will feature an all-new storyline with a host of returning creatures from the Silent Hill universe. It will also include a soundtrack from composer Daniel Licht.

As Konami indicated at its VIP interview session earlier this week, Book of Memories will also introduce multiplayer to the Silent Hill universe. That experience consists of a co-op mode, where players work together to survive Silent Hill's treacherous environments.

The multiplayer thing has NOTHING to do with the HD versions. They're talking about the PS Vita Silent Hill. So, that one may be terrible, but its terribleness has no bearing on the terribleness of Silent Hill HD.

Eddie does sound pretty bad, but so does the original. Feels like a more or less lateral move. As for Mary/Maria, she actually sounds like a grown woman now. She sounds way too young in the original. James is a clear and obvious improvement.
