Video Games So... Nintendon't want no ROMs?

I was recently looking at a few (relatively) legit ROM sites that I used to acquire the old games I loved playing before my last NES system went the way of dead forever... and discovered that all the NES and SNES titles they used to have are gone, apparently removed by request from Nintendo.

A quick search seemed to reveal that only the sketchier-looking sites that had you click a download only to go somewhere else to click more stuff had it - and since I didn't click any of the "more stuff", I don't know how legit any of it is.

While ROMs were never the most popular thing with companies, that is... a surprising move, to me, considering it seems so wide-spread and thorough.

Anyone know how far back this goes? I've not emulated things in quite a while, so I was kind of taken aback.

Anyone have any more information on this, or news that I missed or something?

You should watch this trailer! It's awesome! (The rest of the site's really cool, too!)

I have a small announcement to make. And another!
