Family Guy - North by North Quahog leaked

For those who don't know, that's the first episode of the coming season, and it got leaked onto the internet today.

I'm not a huge Family Guy fan, but I watched it anyway. Wasn't great, but it wasn't the horrendous disappointment I was expecting, either. Seems like they're retained the things that make Family Guy what it is, so those of you waiting on pins and needles to find out if they messed the show up can breathe a sigh of relief.

Short synopsis is as follows, in spoiler colors, incase you want to avoid them. Basically, the romance has gone out of Peter and Lois's relationship, so they opt to take a second honeymoon, effectively leaving Brian and Stewie behind to act as the parents. Peter screws things up, naturally, while Brian and Stewie effectively take on the role of Good/Bad parent in order to cope with Meg and Chris misbehaving End spoilers.

On a final note, quite a few favorite "bit" characters will make brief appearances, as a nod to fans of the show.

Anyone else seen it yet? Your thoughts?

Well it is good that they retained the "Family Guyness."

M'self, I love the show, and if they made it more, oh how should I put this, grandmother friendly, I would have to beat someone up, I dont know who, but I can assure you that it would be the most painful thing they had ever experianced.

Where can I find this leaked episode?

Well, I don't think I can actually tell you where. It can be found on various BitTorrent places, though.

And no, it's not really "grandmother friendly." I'm surprised Fox didn't put the boot on some of the gags in this episode, considering the editing they did on the old episodes that they started re-airing.

I saw it yesterday, they were doing a college promotion and showing that and an Episode of American Dad on a promo DVD, so I assume that's how someone got their hands on it.

I saw it, I thought it was good, but that they were trying to be too edgy for the sake of being edgy, since it's like, hey there's no way they're going to cancel us now!!!

Like how Peter kept making fun of the christians, when, isn't he supposed to be catholic I dunno, that just didn't make too much sense. And I also didn't like how all of a sudden, stewie seemed to be more in charge of things then brian. but meh, it wasn't horrible, we'll have to wait and see about the rest of the season

Well, to be fair, Mel Gibson is a traditionalist christian... quite a different species than the Catholics.

I can't believe I missed the first half tonight.

Yes, I got my whole family to watch it. It was quite funny. I'm an athiest,so maybe all the Christan jokes made it more humorous for me. Everyone loved the Jughead bit, but none in our family even reads that comic.

Also: It wouldn't be the first time Peter made fun of Christians, or even other Catholics... or jews... or muslims... or african americans... or, you know, anything else, majority or minority group.

Further, Peter isn't a very devout Catholic. His father is, and Peter was raised Catholic. In the words of one comedian, "So people always ask me, 'So, you went to Catholic school your entire life... why aren't you a Catholic?' and I say, 'Because I went to Catholic School my entire life.'"

I liked the very beginning where they made fun of all the shows they ran in the time that Family Guy was off that didn't do any good.

Yeah, last night's episode didn't pull any punches. Wonder how long till they get cancelled again? Or at least get their schedule messed with again...

Family Guy now on Thursdays! Tuesdays! Mondays! Every other Saturday in a timeslot that will only be revealed two minutes before airing. Two minutes after!

Aside, I didn't care much for American Dad. While it trys to get a wacky premise for itself, its not nearly as off the wall as Family Guy or even the Simpsons. (At least not in that episode. And yes I know American Dan aired earlier, but I never caught it.)
