So, short version... you know what happened with Herman Cain, if you don't go here to see it in it's awfully delightful glory
Here is the thing though... songs from Pokemon, actually can make some very nice Presidential speeches... such as: "I wanna be... the VERY best. Like NO ONE has ever was. Catching them (the terrorists) is my real test... to train them (the american people, so they can be better qualify for jobs) is my Cause! I will travel across the land. Searching far and wide... Each Pokemon/American citizen to understand The power that's inside (us?) Pokemon, its you and me I know it?s my destiny Pokemon, oh, you're my best friend In a world we must defend Pokemon, a heart so true Our courage will pull us through You teach me and I'll teach you Pokemon, gotta catch 'em all Every challenge along the way With courage I will face I will battle every day To claim my rightful place Come with me, the time is right There's no better team Arm in arm we'll win the fight It's always been our dream " And so on and on etc etc... So, really, not a bad model! |

There is only one anime I will ever reference when it comes to speech-writing and that is TTGL, thank you very much.
Edit: Though the republican party could probably make great use of the Team Rocket Theme. Edit 2: They could even use the uniforms with the R on them. Last edited by Geminex; 12-08-2011 at 08:06 PM. |

Man, you could totally create a presidential bid based on nothing but anime quotes.
"THIS CAMPAIGN IS BUILT ON..... LOVE! AND! PEEAACE!!" And every public appearance and speech will end with the words "See you, Space Cowboy."

...Though I guess that applies more to Anonymous? Sorta? (why is it so hard to find a version of that song that isn't accompanied by Sexy Renamons)

Also, that video is just another brick on the wall of why Japanese anime openings are better than American Anime Openings |

That was more of a comment on the fact that she was wearing a fucking bikini.
And was in the process of removing it. Renamon is overexposed in more ways than one. ...But yeah, Digimon was neat. I stopped watching it after the 3rd season because it just got stupid, but it definitely had some clever ideas, and it was certainly engaging (I say through what's probably a nostalgia-lens). One weird bit I remember is that 4Kids was inconsistent in their censorship. You'd have obvious, explicit death at one point, and then in another, for example, you'd see a dismembered limb flying away, with the character owning it saying "He shot my paw!" before never being seen again.

![]() I've always felt that Digimon was the more "mature" of the two shows. It dealt with bigger conflicts and had way more character development. The only really development I saw in Pokemon was Ash and Misty becoming a little less hotheaded as time went on. On the flip side, Pokemon was a little more "accessible" due to having more memorable "mons" (let's face it, kids remember the names of Pokemon because they were constantly saying them), generally better animation, and (of course) Team Rocket. It was a bit easier to collect Pokemon merch due to the game's catalogue system. Returning to the original topic(?), I personally feel that the American national anthem should be replaced by the Team Rocket motto. They're pretty much the same thing, right? |
