...But yeah, Digimon was neat. I stopped watching it after the 3rd season because it just got stupid, but it definitely had some clever ideas, and it was certainly engaging (I say through what's probably a nostalgia-lens).

One weird bit I remember is that 4Kids was inconsistent in their censorship. You'd have obvious, explicit death at one point, and then in another, for example, you'd see a dismembered limb flying away, with the character owning it saying "He shot my paw!" before never being seen again.

This thread seems to have split from its original purpose. If we're looking into the wisdom of Pokémon, it can't go without saying that shorts are, indeed, comfy and easy to wear. However, if we want to pull campaign slogans from any old anime, these particular verses could be just what this country needs to rally together and solve the problems facing us in the twenty-first century:

We still fight, fighting in the nineties! nineties! nineties!

And Digimon was a neat show.

You're referring to the dub of Digimon? That one was done by Saban, actually.

I've always felt that Digimon was the more "mature" of the two shows. It dealt with bigger conflicts and had way more character development. The only really development I saw in Pokemon was Ash and Misty becoming a little less hotheaded as time went on.

On the flip side, Pokemon was a little more "accessible" due to having more memorable "mons" (let's face it, kids remember the names of Pokemon because they were constantly saying them), generally better animation, and (of course) Team Rocket. It was a bit easier to collect Pokemon merch due to the game's catalogue system.

Returning to the original topic(?), I personally feel that the American national anthem should be replaced by the Team Rocket motto. They're pretty much the same thing, right?

I just remember a scene from Digimon where one of the Kids slugged the shit out of the Kid with the 'Bad Guy' Digimon instead of wasting time with a Digimon super fight.

It was one of the later seasons, I can't remember which, but it certainly resonated with me as making more sense.
