So is Chaos against all of creation per se, or is he just against creation in an ordered form?

If is the former Black Mage is screwed no matter what kind of logic he uses, since if it exists Chaos is going to destroy it.

If its the latter then Black Mage is screwed, because while he may turn everything, or parts thereof, into cake that would only last as long as it would take him to turn it into something else. So Black Mage is screwed because every part of the world around him in a constant and unpredictable manner (that's assuming Chaos let him keep his assistance intact; which he wouldn't). It would be a hell that Black Mage could neither conquer nor comprehend. He would be driven mad by this kind of world. An eternal psychological anguish of such magnitude he would miss Fighter (or at least someone to stab).

In other words: The cake isn't necessarily a lie, but he would NEVER be able to enjoy it.

Well, seeing as "the end" for them is going up with Chaos in a fight, I would find it hard to blame them. Think about it this way; If you were a level one hero with a humorous personality and no skills going up against an extremely high level boss, do you really think you would have a chance? No sir. In which event I presume you would be swearing your head off. Although, if you could swear the boss' head off. Then you would be in the clear.
