Yeah, you have to hold the button to zoom, but you can look around all you please BEFORE you start trying to hack so maybe they should just try planning before they jump in. I am also drowning in Stop, Nuke, and Auto-Unlocks at the moment. If the hack web has a direct link to the tower node, instead of a one-way bridge leading away, you can hack THAT to complete the hack and capture all the datastore bonuses as well.

I thought those were only in the beta?
I know I haven't seen them anywhere at all in the PC retail version. Quote:

That explains it, the AUDs are a pre-order pack bonus.

By the end of the game I had 21 Nuke Viruses, and like 16 Stop Worms left over. I would have more Stop Worms, but a lot of times when trying to click "Capture" I'd misclick on the Worm.
So yeah, feel free to go crazy with the things 'cause they hand those out like candy on Halloween. Especially if you capture all the nodes while hacking. |

Did a second play through. First time I was one grudge away from pacifist (killing anyone connected to the kidnapping in the beginning) stealth run. Played as a character rather than for any achievements.
So this time I decided to go the other direction. Never got my hacking past 2, concentrated entirely on shooting dudes. Learned a few things: Thing 1: The fully upgraded 10mm pistol is the only weapon you need. A head shot with it, which is super easy if you have a laser sight, will kill anyone. Even if you don't upgrade its damage and just take the armor piercing upgrade one of which is hidden behind Jensen's TV you can one shot any enemy up until the last quarter of the game, helmets or no. And having it silenced means enemies don't automatically form up on you. It took under one clip (and a canister of poisonous gas I picked up from the corner and threw at him) to kill the first boss. By the second boss I had the emp armor upgrade which made me immune to the electrical floors. I just burst a power conduit and murdered her with a single combat rifle clip. Third boss I tossed a single frag at as combat started, and while he was staggering I mowed him down with the heavy rifle. And every mission went incredibly fast when I wasn't trying to sneak everywhere and instead only using my silencer to get a few free kills in each room before they spotted where I was head shotting them from. Got much less experience and money from not hacking every computer I came across, but I also needed less, considering I no longer required those 8 points I sank into hacking in my other game. I ended up maxing cloak, not because I really wanted it, but because I had nothing else useful to my character to buy. However: Fuck robots and turrets. There are not enough EMP grenades in the game, and sneaking up to them to use the typhoon (or pick up a turret and throw it so you can shoot at the bottom of it until it dies) is kind of annoying sometimes. And if you fight them straight, dermal armor or no, they will rip you to shreds. And use almost all your ammo for whatever gun you assign to the dread task.

So you guys know the part in Montreal, where
you need to activate, and wait for, the elevator to get to the secret lair below Picus?
Well I found an easy way to beat it without being seen or killing anyone. It involves blocking the doors (Although make sure you disable the turret) Only two guys spawn, one outside each door, and they just stand there since their path into the room is obstructed. Also, the bosses are stupidly easy this time around. For the first one I just threw a frag mine at his feet and shot him a few times while he was stunned, and repeated that process. Took three mines Second boss I threw an emp mine that I picked up earlier, shot her a bit, then threw frag mines and repeated the same thing as the first boss. Took three mines (plus the emp). I doubt the third will be much different. Kind of disappointing that it's so easy to cheese the bosses on hard. |

Just they're a huge pain if you're not stealth mchackerston. Which, itself, is good, 'cause it kinda evens out the difficulty of avoiding gun fights and playing that way with the reward of never having to deal with those things.

I like sneaking and hacking my way past everything and then turning around and killing everyone I can find for goodies.
I get the personal satisfaction of knowing I can skillz my way past, unseen, and then the gratification of mowing them down like so much mook
