7 years of residency is a tough habit to break. And I genuinely like some of the folks here. Though that number has taken a nosedive over the past year.

What Token said was pretty much gold, but in light of the environment here I'll always give more weight to 'learn to take a hit' or 'grow a thicker skin.' And then silence. Getting away from specifics, sometimes there is a right and sometimes there is a wrong, and REALLY OFTEN there is also indeterminate. That's all up in the air, but what I can say for sure is that folks don't treat other folks with much respect. Myself included.

I don't have the mod perspective on this but if the Report Post button actually got more direct use instead of folks countering back etc, things might be better. Massive speculation on my part. We may just have evolved three separate entities at NPF: Not Fo' Srs, Neutral, and Fo' Srs.

My initial, deranged enjoyment of the dramabomb over at SP was basically because, well, I just don't like Noncon/Liz/Kim. At all. And it would take plenty to change that. And it's basically nobody's business as to why but if you're super duper curious I'm sure you can find a way to ask me. So my entertainment really had not much to do with any of you, but I guess I didn't explain myself in the slightest.

In conclusion, I miss Seil too. His OR statement threads were the glue that held NPF together for years.

The RP forum to stare into the background has remained relatively stable, though a certain degree of snobbery has been growing in the background. Which is both positive and negative give or take who you happen to be. Lots of secret talks about who is any good at what and what have you. Not to mention more than three quarters of discussions these days are taken far far from the face of NPF due to the growing addiction to edupads after their inception by Bard.

The level of activity and risk taking on new plot ideas has dropped quite a bit by comparison when we were all younger though. Due to a mixture of quick thread deaths and time management. Still probably the least caustic part of the NPF at the time. Unless you are Drac, but everyone needs a fall guy.

I had considered it. I may still do so, but it might warrant a further review of other perm bans. It's something I haven't brought up to the mod staff yet.

There's a lot I'd like to say regarding comments in this thread, and comments relating to [my] inaction. I think I will at least write up a little detailed blurb about me, who I am, and the kind of things that make me such a screwup. What makes me make, or fail to make, the weird decisions and put-my-foot-down statements that I do. But that will have to happen later today and after lunch.
