I'm still confused as to what the advantage is to Inkdropping.
Well it's better than the ludicrously complex wavedashing and SHFFLing. Quote:

Also that tier list will obviously change, maybe by a lot, when the game gets released so don't put too much stock into it yet. just sayin' |

What I don't get is how people see the SSB series as a competitive game. To me, everything about the series show that it's not made to be a competitive game (for Christ sake, look at the stages and the items!) and yet people still do it anyways. All this talk about tiers and advanced moves... what happened to just fuckin' around for fun?

Even so people do take Smash far too seriously, ie Mew2King, who apparently was considering suicide because his controllers were stolen and he fears he'll never be as good as he was again. Last edited by mudah.swf; 10-20-2007 at 03:28 PM. |

And, to be fair, it is a complex game. Spikes and meteors, air dodging, recovery, SHFFLing, wavedashing, comboing, etc etc etc. It's no different than Guilty Gear or Street Fighter's comboing. Games are as complex as you make them - I've known people to play all of Castlevania Symphony of the Night by exploiting a glitch that makes it so you stay at level 1, just so they can give the game more re playability. The concepts behind the game are irrelevent - Yes it's absurd to take a game seriously when Pikachu beats the shit out of Mario with a lightsabre. But honestly that's not your call. And hell yeah I play competitively. I'm a competitive person, and I like Smash alot.

I went to a Melee tournament once and managed to get 3rd place, I think I would have gotten better if those preening Sheik using gasbags hadn't triple teamed me in the final round. I still managed to kill one of them though. Man he was pissed.:p We are so gonna have to have a NPF tournament. Winner gets bragging rights!

I like how that guy immediately put Ike on the bottom list considering everyone has been winning most of the time with him. It kind of reveals some biases, if you ask me. Besides, this tier thing is futile. We all know the three best characters are going to be Snake, the Masked Man from Mother 3, and Tingle.
Interesting read. Final Smash Compilation of every character. And Golden Bowser against Dark Link, motherfuckers. Last edited by Regulus Tera; 10-20-2007 at 09:54 PM. |

Wow, Bowser looks nice this time around. I remember how in Melee, he was really too slow and interruptable to really be able to compete/be truly fun to play as (I know, he was the first character I reliably played as), but he looks nice this time, what with his leap-into-the-air grab and the fact that some attacks are now uninterruptable. Plus, he looks like he'll have an easy time getting Smash balls and putting them to good use.
![]() Plus, gold bowser looks just plain awesome. ![]() |

Information about the game's storyline.
login: guest password: nintendo Game storyline: In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out. In the solo mode called "The Subspace Emissary," the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by an entity called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, called "The Primid." Normally, characters come alive in the world of Smash Bros. to do battle, then turn back into trophies when defeated. However, the Ancient Minister starts turning characters into trophies to harness their power, then detonates bombs that suck pieces of the world back into his realm of Subspace. Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels. I'm sneaky. |
