I assumed Sheik was in but...bleh. She looks unchanged and almost identical. Hopefully wavedashing and SHFFLing and a few balance tweaks make her a hell of a lot more balanced.

Movement wise, Yes. But counter more then makes up for that. Marth and Roy were Top-Tier characters because of counter.

Also, Ike apparently has a few quick attacks, so all in all, it looks like he will be a fine character.

You know, I really wasn't surprised that Sheik's in. I'm not sure what, but something told me that she just couldn't not be in it.

Also, Snake has Sheik beat hands down.

Slightly Off-Topic Note: Am I the only person here that thought Sheik was a woman, even during my first play through of OoT?

See that sheath she has. Maybe they've changed some of her basic and smash attacks. Seems a little odd to have added it otherwise.

I love the new model though I thought the face looked changed until I compared her to the new Zelda. I like the touches like that little ponytail thing. I always wondered where all that hair went.

End of Day sounds pretty cool for Olimar's final smash. I'm curious what exactly Zero Suit Samus' final smash does in addition to giving her back the power suit too. Something with Chozo statues maybe?

a) Roy was nowhere near top tier. He was an exceedingly weak character who had NO reliable kill moves unless he was on the ground (namely, Forward Smash). The only things he had over Marth were his Counter* and his up-B. The other B moves, arguably, but everything else Marth had an unquestionably better use for.

b) Counter alone does not make top-tier. Its usefulness is situational at best and requires some significant mind-gaming to get full use out of it. Marth was up there because of his very quick attacks, wide attack range, a spike that could not be cancelled out of**, and a forward smash that could kill at 50%. Among other things.

* The power of which was about 1.5x that of the power of the attack countered--Counter-Falcon Punch was DANGEROUS
** Compared to other attacks, Meteor Attacks, which sent opponents straight down but allowed the player to cancel the momentum by jumping or using a recovery move. Marth and Falco have spikes that cannot be cancelled in this way, though I've heard some later versions of Melee fixed this.
