While OB:MotBQ should be a game everyone owns, OB64 is rightfully ignored. They had such a great system and then they just buggered it up. And they didn't have a Queen song as a subtitle. For shame! The best ending in March was when you were all evil and they rebelled but you lost. There was no way I would have lost! I had an army of liches and dragons and devils and princesses and seraphim. Lots of them, all high level! Last edited by Professor Smarmiarty; 05-04-2008 at 06:05 PM. |

Legend of Dragoon was cool and all, 'til you noticed that the gigantic guy of your team does less damage than everyone else BUT the archer. You'd do more damage with the dancing 10 year old than with him.

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but Gaid Ground! Dude, that game rocks! It's for the genesis.

Meru is almost as bad, but in the opposite sense. You have to be insane to hit her later Additions, but they also have a crazy amount of hits for her poor STR. She's also crazy fast and has good magical abilities, but is almost as bad as Shana and Miranda on defense. Her Dragoon also is one of the fastest to build if you can deal with all that. Really, Rose is probably one of the best. She has good Additions, good magic, decent speed, probably the best defense for any of the female characters, and gets the best weapon in the game. Also, it doesn't hurt that all of her abilities are metered out through the course of the game by major events.

Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful game. Also, I found too many elements of LoD to blatantly ripoff Final Fantasy (and most specifically, Final Fantasy VII) to really enjoy it.

Somebody mentioned Dragon's Lair a few pages back.
...Excellent.

Dragon's Lair was totally silly! It was simply a test of how rich people were. Once you knew what to do you could finish it every time easily. Getting to that first point took a lot of money though.

Descent: Freespace 1&2
The last great space flight-sim! Not quite as hard to fly as descent was, but certainly difficult as you must constantly dogfight superior-in-every-way alien fighters while directing your 2 or 3 squadrons to take down capital ships, defend against bombers, watch your ass, etc. The capital ships take-downs were awesome, and the immersion factor was heavy. The game has every possible option for you, from adjusting shields to cover certain parts of the ship, or balancing your power between shields, engines and weapons to fit a situation, you get many ships to pick from and the loadout is your choice. Freespace 2 improves on everything.

Conflict for the NES. I spent days of my life on that game, because you had to complete every map successfully to get the code to play the final mission. This was before all such codes existed on the internet. Already I was a hard-core strategy gamer, but some maps (namely those without effective anti-air) were nigh-impossible, because the computer always started with twice your fame points and spent them on shiny new fighter and bomber aircraft that I couldn't afford to counter.
