Also, for some reason with the GIMP, if you stroke a selection, it comes out a lot more aliased than if you stroke a path. Edit: Example! Low quality JPG, so it's not the BEST example. ![]() Edit deux: What you could do is create the selection, then convert it to a work path, to get a smooth stroke.

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. On the off chance that someone is taking a trip down memory lane looking through those old threads, I wanted to devote my signature to say directly to you, I'm sorry. Thanks for the tips guys. I would try them out now, but been visiting family all week and only just now got to a computer. I'll be sure to check them out once I get home on Sunday.
Basically, with the current font, Comic Book Commando, size 24 is where I normally fall. I can get the line spacing down to -5 to take care of the vertical threshold, but any character spacing that I lower, even by -.5, it just looks to squashed. My next projects are to get a more versatile font and to work on the tips you guys have given before the next scene is out. |

Ultimately, use whatever technique that you feel comfortable in creating the speech bubbles.
As for the font, the actual size can be bumped down some, I think. Not just the leading/spacing.
