Yeah even as much as Kojima can make whatever game he wants with the "Kojima Productions" stamp on it and it'll sell like lemonade in the desert, Konami still sees Kojima's face as a machine that prints money that has TACTICAL ESPIONAGE ACTION written on it.

I only want a ZOE if I can pilot the Vic Viper Mark 2 throughout the normal campaign. And that I can blow up entire cities, alter the plot ala fist of mars, and blow up a space-station with a giant laser, Gundam Wing style.
How would they even implement six-axis? If you're going to go for realism or motion control for ZOE, I 'd want to wait until I can wear a full body motion suit or control the Orbital Frame through sheer thought alone via wires.

A new ZOE would be pretty awesome, but I'm not sure where they'd go with it, story-wise.
However, as long as it plays as beautifully as the last one, I wouldn't mind if they made you pilot a flying Metal Gear bent on nuking Mars or something like that.

Considering how 2 ended. It'll most likely be an entirely new story in a different universe with a different Orbital Frame.

The only game that I've run across where you can't turn off SixAxis, is Uncharted 1. And it pretty much is used to throw the grenades, and in a manner that actually is fun & works. (Well there are also 2 places where you've got to use the Sixaxis to balance on a log, but its only twice and relatively painless.) SWB

Actually it is; you can shake the controller to "shake off" your current camo pattern. Also it's used to defeat Screaming Manits, by shaking those voodoo dolls. I think those are the only points though.

Yeah, but that's not mandatory. I know I beat Screaming Mantis without using it, and you can just change your camo pattern normally.

My point is it's in the game, pretty much every ps3 game in fact, in some small way, but as you said, it's never mandatory. Whenever sixaxis is used in games, it's usually something small and gimmicky like that; throwing grenades, balancing on logs, etc. No game ever requires you to use it as your primary control system. Even games where it was designed to be used as such (like Lair), or games where it works... ok, ish, (like Warhawk or Wipeout) allow you to turn it off or have it off to start with.
So there's no need to ever worry abut "Sixaxis controls ruining a game", because they never will.

Now I'm starting to wonder what PS3 games Brian has played that were butchered by "six-axis horseshit". There'd have to be a bunch if Konami's supposedly going to insist on doing it and making it a function you can't turn off, wouldn't there? I mean, I'm no expert on PS3 games, but I can only think of two games that force you to use it.
Heavenly Sword, I think it's called, which I haven't played but I guess you use six-axis to guide the arrows? I dunno. There's another one that I can't remember the name of but was set in Scotland or something and you captured demons. Wasn't a great game, but managed to be fairly average from what I played. You had to use six-axis to capture some of the demons. Didn't control that bad from what I experienced. Maybe it gets worse? EDIT: Did a little research, and I guess Resistance made you shake it to get acid off, and Killzone 2 made you use it to open a gate or something. I haven't played through either, so I don't have first hand experience with them, but that sounds more like an annoyance than butchering. EDITEDIT: Oh, and I guess the new Ratchet and Clank game used them for some gadgets, but as with the previous things, I don't know how well it worked.

Uncharted was already mentioned for the grenades, which I don't think you can turn off... I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I only have like eight PS3 games, I think.
