On-topically yeah IDK that this is exactly a free-speech issue so much as just the general reason-free insanity of the war on (some groups of people who use particular kinds of) drugs. In a way it's kind of worse than a free-speech issue since, as one guy in the OP's article points out, it's more just destructive to like, any sane notion of what law is and how it should work.

Basically attempting to enforce American laws on foreign soil is impossible. And why just in regard to American citizens? Why not start arresting Bhutanese for having more than one wife or arresting Dutch people for smoking pot and having sex with prostitutes?

Then again, arresting the Koch brothers for "legally" selling equipment to the Iranians through foreign holdings...it is sort of appealing. But since it mainly seems aimed at like arresting dudes for smoking pot in Amsterdam I think we can all safely say it's dead on arrival, both constitutionally, ethically, freaking reasonably, in that I can't even think of a good reason where it would ever actually be applied.

You see, we have this beast called politicians. One of the requirements of the position is doublethink. So you can have your belief. They can their own belief, a contradictory belief, and paradox absorbing crumple zones.

Like I can see how this is a source of concern but I thought we had an international police organization to deal with international crime...I believe it's called something like INTERPOL. As representative of the rest of the world, our laws are not full of enough freedom and liberty thus we endorse this move whole-heartedly but would like you to extend it further and just replace all our laws with your own.
